great campsite. we could choose where to put our tent. really friendly host. nice showers and bathroom. book exchange and laundry.

Tenters Beware! We were looking for a spot along the Great Divide Bicycle Trail to pitch our tents for the night and thought this might be the ticket. When we arrived, the sites we were assigned were covered with sharp stickers that would have punctured our tents and air mattresses. Needless to say we couldn't camp there. The staff kindly offered to give us a refund, but the manager still hasn't issued one. So disappointed. If you have to stay here checkout your site BEFORE you pay!

First off, the camp host is extremely nice. However, our problems lie with the owners. We were bicycle touring through Wyoming and stopped at this campground. We paid for 5 of us to camp there for one night and as we set our tents up, we realized the ground was covered in stickers/thorny weeds that were penetrating through the tent floor and into our air mattress. The camp host offered to refund our money as we could not sleep on that ground. She was able to refund the two who paid cash but was able to refund the credit card that paid for three. She said the owners would have to do that. As of 2 1/2 weeks later, the owners are unwilling to refund the unused sites. Not a happy camper. :-)

If you want the real ranch life deal, you've got it here. The nightly campfire/meet-and-greet are a great place to meet people from around the continent. It's windy in the daytime (not good for tenting, which we did), and cold at night (also a caveat to tenters). The town is at 7016 feet. The rustic out-buildings, cabins, and trailers give a western feel to the property. Definitely good for RVers, not for tenters.

Lander is too far away for a day trip (2 hours) , and Jackson Hole is not much closer (1.75 hrs). I didn't see the town, but it seems primitive as far as attractions. In short, Wind River View is a good, friendly & authentic stop on a road trip.

The people are frendly. Level sites. Nice view to the south-west. Clean showers. Would sugest bigger signs to Campground.
